Coordinator of Faith Formation - St. Francis Site
General Description:
The Coordinator of Faith Formation oversees the faith formation program of our children from K through 8th grade at the St. Francis, Belleville site, under the direction of the Pastor.
Expected Hours:
From August 1-May 15, the average expected time commitment per week is 8 hours. From May 16-July 31 minimal expectations. The Coordinator supports our Wednesday night and Sunday morning programs, which meet twice per month. A few office hours will be posted in order to better assist families.
Responsibilities:
Help recruit and train catechists for the elementary program
Work with catechists throughout the academic year on lesson planning and spiritual growth
Consult with Pastor and Director of Faith Formation on curriculum and implement the curriculum decided upon
Prepare the facility and help catechists with any needs in preparing for class (such as making copies)
Be present at all elementary faith formation classes (Sunday mornings) as a resource for catechists and substitute, as needed
Support our Middle School program on Wednesday evenings
Coordinate family faith formation events
Assist in the planning of special events, socials, and faith formation fundraisers
Attend monthly staff meetings
Be in regular communication with parents about expectations for their children’s classes
Post at least 3 office hours per week during the school year to be accessible to parents
Coordinate with Director of Faith Formation in planning and implementing retreats, especially for First Reconciliation and First Communion preparation
Collaborate with Coordinator of Confirmation Preparation program in communication, retreats, and any other needs
Other duties as assigned
